What is it?
Since 2009, TallGrass Aveda Spa and Salon has been collecting donations of personal care items, assembling care packages and shipping them in flat rate postal boxes to troops in the Middle East. Contributions of items for the boxes are collected throughout the year and shipments are made twice each year, at Mother’s Day/Father’s Day and holiday time.
What’s in a care package?

- Combs and brushes, hair clips and headbands
- Shower shoes, flip flops
- Razors
- Cushioned shoe insoles
- Chapsticks
- Q-Tips
- Feminine products
- Toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss
- Contact solution, eye drops
- Personal hygiene wipes
- Paperback books, decks of cards, small games
- For warm weather – sunscreen, bug repellent, cooling neck wraps
- For cold weather – desert color socks and gloves, heat packs for hands and feet
- Shaving cream
- Baseball caps
- (no aerosols, no food items)
