Wild Aware, a fast-growing wildlife advocacy nonprofit, is seeking a full-time Assistant Executive Director with the intent to transition into Executive Director within one year. This hybrid position combines administrative support with hands-on leadership development.
Responsibilities include:
– Managing email, scheduling, and records
– Supporting volunteer coordination and project logistics
– Maintaining calendars and databases
– Assisting with events, communications, and government outreach
– Gradually taking on fundraising, partnership-building, and strategic leadership duties
Ideal candidate:
– Has nonprofit experience; knowledge of Evergreen/Mountain Area communities is a plus
– Strong organizer and communicator
– Confident, collaborative, and ready to support an active volunteer-based organization
– Skilled with digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva preferred)
– Self-directed, reliable, and community-minded
– Passionate about wildlife and motivated to grow into nonprofit leadership
