About Mark Morris
As a pro skier, trail runner and overall outdoor athlete, fifth-generation Coloradan Mark Morris seeps himself in the wonder of nature, where most of his song inspiration emerges. He sings about skiing, trail running and other outdoor recreation, finding that most people who live here instantly relate to the music.
“I get 90% of my inspiration from nature,” Morris said about his overall life — not just his songwriting.
Growing up in Idaho Springs, he began playing guitar at age 10, then graduated from the University of Colorado in 2007 with a degree in music business. Since then, he has been a touring musician, promoter, teacher and athlete — all of which have taken him worldwide, teaching camps and workshops. When he’s not playing shows or skiing big mountains, he works as a music promoter and talent buyer for festivals and events. He co-founded Rapidgrass Festival in 2009 in his hometown of Idaho Springs.
